@xiaotong743 , I think we should also have an option to specify whenever a path is provided an in_memory option.
I noticed this when I needed ineurons wholly in memory.
We currently have the option to only put in memory per the nonzero leafs to a stream. But should be able to also set a path like {"path": "/x..." , in_memory=True}.
