Speculative Fiction Without Distraction
A quarterly online magazine featuring original science fiction, fantasy, and modern speculative fiction. Edited by Andrew Leon Hudson. Published since 2008.
Mythaxis features short fiction (typically 3,000–7,000 words), flash fiction, book reviews, and occasional editorials. We publish established and emerging writers from around the world.
Each quarterly issue presents a curated selection of stories with custom artwork and a distinctive visual identity — every issue has its own color scheme, hero image, and decorative roundel design.

Built with Hugo static site generator. Hosted on GitHub Pages.
The site uses a dual-theme system allowing each issue to declare its own design:
- nebula2026 (Issues 43+) — Bespoke magazine design with chromatic typography and custom SVG roundels
- horizon2020 (Issues 1–42) — Legacy archive theme
