Dayeon Yoo

Master’s student in Computer Engineering at the University of New Mexico, advised by Prof. Milad Marvian.

I work on computational methods for quantum error correction, with a focus on automated qLDPC code discovery and optimization, including hypergraph product and bivariate bicycle codes.

My broader interests include:

  • Quantum LDPC codes
  • BP+OSD and neural decoding
  • Logical computation
  • Hardware-aware quantum error correction
  • Scientific computing and HPC

Current research

Automated Discovery of Hypergraph Product and Bivariate Bicycle Codes via Suppression of Low-Weight Logical Patterns

Developing search objectives based on low-weight logical patterns to identify improved qLDPC code constructions without repeatedly running logical-error-rate simulations.

Technical tools

Python · C++ · NumPy · SciPy · NetworkX · Z3 · PyTorch · Slurm · Linux · LaTeX

Background

Before moving into quantum error correction, I built production software and data-intensive systems, including a community platform that reached more than 15,000 users.
