The previous revision specified information architecture and called it a book. It was not. The front door is still a SaaS hero (gradient orbs, blur-3xl, a pulsing dot), which says product, while the thesis says the number is bounded by evidence, not architecture.

Direction: a critical edition of a result. Central column carries the argument; an apparatus in the margin carries receipts, provenance and caveats.

  • Colour encodes epistemic status. Evidence blue only for what you can check; frontier rose only for the two cells we do not win, and for our caveats. Rose is the colour of honesty, not of error. Verified: rose 6.0:1, blue 8.4:1, ink 18.9:1 on paper. Marginalia moves off subtle (4.59:1, uncomfortable at 13px) onto muted (7.1:1).
  • Two typographic registers, so the reader knows which object they hold: serif for the book, mono for data (GO:0006355 is a code and should look like one), sans only inside /instrument/*. Measure in ch with hyphens: auto, or the column breaks in German.
  • The hero is the nine-cell grid, typeset as a table, with the two BP cells we lose set in rose. Opening with what we lose is the risk this design takes, and it is the right one: an honest frontier is the most characteristic thing in this subject's world. One motion only: three rows arriving in order, removed under prefers-reduced-motion.
  • The signature: a footnote you pull. The marker expands the margin note in place into the receipt, the script and the POST /jobs payload. The action is a hairline-underlined link, not a filled button. After dispatch the marker gains = if the number reproduces, a rose if it diverges. The footnote is the reproduction — FR-1, in the register of scholarship.
  • Every evidence table carries a frame stamp on its caption. A table without one is a bug.
  • Removed: the orbs, the blur, the pulsing dot, the rounded hero, the logo on book pages.

The previous revision specified information architecture and called it a book. It was not.
The front door is still a SaaS hero (gradient orbs, blur, a pulsing dot), which says
product, while the thesis says the number is bounded by evidence rather than architecture.

Direction: a critical edition of a result. A central column carrying the argument, an
apparatus in the margin carrying receipts, provenance and caveats.

- Colour encodes epistemic status. Evidence blue is reserved for what you can check;
frontier rose for the two cells we do not win and for our caveats. Rose is the colour of
honesty, not of error. Contrast verified: rose 6.0:1, blue 8.4:1, ink 18.9:1 on paper.
Marginalia moves from subtle (4.59:1, uncomfortable at 13px) to muted (7.1:1).
- Two typographic registers, so the reader knows which object they hold: serif for the book,
mono for data (a GO id is a code and should look like one), sans only inside /instrument.
Measure in ch with hyphens auto, or the column breaks in German.
- The hero is the nine-cell grid typeset as a table, with the two BP cells we lose set in
rose. Opening with what we lose is the risk this design takes, and it is the right one: an
honest frontier is the most characteristic thing in this subject's world.
- The signature is a footnote you pull. The marker expands the margin note in place into the
receipt, the script and the POST /jobs payload; the action is a hairline-underlined link,
not a filled button; after it lands the marker gains = if the number reproduces or a rose
!= if it diverges. The footnote is the reproduction. That is FR-1 in the register of
  scholarship.
- Every evidence table carries a frame stamp on its caption. A table without one is a bug.
- Removed: the orbs, the blur, the pulsing dot, the rounded hero, and the logo on book pages.
