Footprint specifications

All parts shall be grouped in symbol libraries based on their particular feature set. Examples of feature sets might be "DC-DC converters", "Connectors", "ESD"

Naming Conventions

Generic part naming

Generic symbols shall have the following syntax

[Part use][Number of positions][Special Feature]

Atomic Parts

Atomic parts shall have the following syntax

[Manufacturer]-[Special Feature / Pin Count]-[Part Number]

Variable Pin Names

Some symbols and parts may have pins that are multi-use. Each symbol shall have Field Names for those designated pins. The shall be notated on the schematic symbol and shall be referenced in the footprints.
