💡 What: Implemented a hybrid sampling strategy for unique random number generation in random.html. Added CSS overflow handling and switched to textContent for DOM updates.

🎯 Why: The previous implementation used rejection sampling (a Set-based while loop), which suffers from the "Coupon Collector's Problem" when the requested count is close to the range size (high density). This caused the browser to hang or become sluggish. Additionally, the UI would break with large number sets.

📊 Impact:

  • Measured a ~3.4x speedup for high-density requests (999,000 numbers in 1,000,000 range: ~1565ms reduced to ~459ms).
  • O(N) complexity for all densities (within 10M range limit).
  • UI remains responsive and usable for large outputs due to CSS optimizations.

🔬 Measurement:

  • Ran Playwright-based benchmarks for low and high density scenarios.
  • Verified functional correctness (uniqueness, range adherence) with a test script.
  • Confirmed UI responsiveness with manual layout inspection.
