- Implement hybrid sampling: Set-based rejection sampling (<50% density) and Map-based Sparse Fisher-Yates (>=50% density). - Improve performance from O(N^2) to O(N) for high-density requests. - Add CSS for scrollable results and word-wrapping to prevent UI lag. - Fix validation logic to allow single-value ranges. - Add safety cap of 1,000,000 for count and range. - Initialize .jules/bolt.md performance journal. 👋 Jules, reporting for duty! I'm here to lend a hand with this pull request. When you start a review, I'll add a 👀 emoji to each comment to let you know I've read it. I'll focus on feedback directed at me and will do my best to stay out of conversations between you and other bots or reviewers to keep the noise down. I'll push a commit with your requested changes shortly after. Please note there might be a delay between these steps, but rest assured I'm on the job! 💡 What: Replaced pure rejection sampling with a hybrid approach (Set-based rejection sampling for < 50% density, Map-based Sparse Fisher-Yates for >= 50% density) in
random.html. Also improved the UI with scrollable results and fixed a validation bug.🎯 Why: The original rejection sampling algorithm becomes extremely inefficient (O(N²) or worse) at high density due to collision frequency. Sparse Fisher-Yates ensures O(N) time complexity even when picking nearly all numbers from a range.
📊 Impact:
max-heightandoverflow-yto the results container to prevent layout thrashing and maintain browser responsiveness.🔬 Measurement: Verified using a Node.js verification script and Playwright frontend verification. Logic benchmarked with
