💡 What: Implemented a hybrid sampling algorithm for unique random numbers: - Rejection sampling (Set-based) for < 50% density. - Sparse Fisher-Yates (Map-based) for >= 50% density. 🎯 Why: High-density requests previously caused O(N^2+) performance collapse due to excessive collisions in the rejection sampling loop, potentially hanging the browser. 📊 Impact: Reduces logic execution time for 999,999 numbers in a 1M range from ~3.7s to ~0.66s (~5.6x speedup). Improved UI responsiveness for large outputs with CSS overflow and textContent. 🔬 Measurement: Verified with Node.js and Playwright benchmarks. Fixed range validation to allow single-value ranges. Optimized the unique random number generation in
random.htmlto prevent performance collapse at high densities. The new hybrid algorithm uses a Sparse Fisher-Yates shuffle for high-density requests, ensuring O(N) complexity.
