Specreduce is an Astropy affiliated package with the goal of providing a shared set of Python utilities that can be used to reduce and calibrate spectroscopic data. The tools and functions as part of this package can be used to build pipelines for spectroscopic data reduction while being well integrated into the Python ecosystem.
Objectives
Provide functionality to build spectroscopic pipelines
Provide a package that is well integrated with the Astropy ecosystem
Provide a package that is well documented and tested
The minimum functionality for a version 1.0 release is currently being tracked in the project plan:
