station_numberから移動した駅数を算出し、その駅数にもとづいてFARESを算出するようなプログラムを実装しました。

この問題は苦戦しました。FlashメッセージではなくErrorメッセージを追加する方法が分からず、色々と模索し、下記ページを参考に実装をしました。

これも苦戦しました。exited_gate_idの有無で判別できると思い、exited_gate_idがnilでない場合にroot_pathにリダイレクトする様に実装をしました。
全体を通しての感想
初めて「誰かが書いたプログラムに手を加える」ということを経験しました。自分が考えたプログラムを書いていることと何か大きな違いがあるのか？と言われると、明言することは難しいのですが、人のプログラムに手を加えるということは少なからず「責任」が生まれるなぁと思いました。それと同時にもっと勉強しなきゃなぁという意識も芽生えました。
責任が生まれる分、読みやすいコードを書かなければならないのですが、知識がない分、読みやすいコードの書き方がわからない、というなんとも居た堪れない気持ちになったからです。
長くなりましたが、結論としてはこの課題をやってみて、本当に良かったです。とても勉強になりました。この課題に関連した書籍が販売されるということでしたので、そちらがリリースされることを心待ちにしています。
