TCPing Visual is a modern web interface for the TCPing utility, allowing you to test TCP connectivity to any host and port with a beautiful, interactive visualization.

Clone this repository:

Compile the TCPing utility:
make

Install the required Node.js dependencies:
npm install

Start the server:
./start-demo.sh
or
node server.js

Open your browser and navigate to:
http://localhost:3000 -
Enter a hostname/IP address and adjust the parameters as needed

Hover over the "?" icons to see explanations for each parameter

Click "Start TCPing" to begin the test

To switch language, click the language button in the top-right corner
TCPing Visual is built on top of the TCPing command line utility. You can also use TCPing directly from the command line:
# Basic usage (ping port 80)
./tcping hostname
# Specify a different port
./tcping -p 443 hostname
# Ping once
./tcping -p 443 -c 1 hostname
# Ping 5 times with 2 second interval
./tcping -p 443 -c 5 -i 2 hostname
# Use IPv6
./tcping -p 443 -v 6 hostname
# Set timeout (2 seconds)
./tcping -p 443 -t 2 hostname
# Set timeout with microseconds
./tcping -p 443 -t 1 -u 500000 hostname
# Flood connect (no delays)

# Quiet mode (only return code)
./tcping -p 443 -q hostnameTCPing returns the following exit codes:
0: Success - connection established2: Host or service could not be resolved127: Other errors
- The web interface sends a request to the Node.js server
- The server executes the TCPing command with the provided parameters
- The results are parsed and sent back to the web interface
- The web interface displays the results in a chart and log
By default, the web interface runs in simulated mode, which doesn't require the server to be running. This is useful for demonstration purposes. To use the actual TCPing utility, uncomment the relevant code in script.js.
