Shawn's Genesis sidebar, into the Charter's commentary (the two-register home for the why):

  • Scar gloss — the scar is the proof the encounter happened (Jacob's limp); a record that never reverses has only accumulated assertions.
  • Refusal gloss — Refusal is not rebellion but the refusal to surrender judgment — argument as a mode of fidelity (Abraham, Moses, Job, the prophets); the word's discomfort is the point.
  • New passage "Refusal and Scar — the wrestling and the wound" — the pair is inseparable in code (charter-refusal depends on charter-scar; to refuse is to record); Israel = "wrestles with God"; encounter→struggle→wound→transformation→new name; the wound becomes the identity (the strange loop); the Demiurge is the un-wrestleable that bears no scars. A god you cannot argue with is the Demiurge; a tradition that argues with God is the antidote.

Doc-only. risk: low.
