  • AI Rangefinder: Calibrate this by placing an object at a known distance. Enter that distance into the software so the math stays accurate.

The servo control module moves the motor based on what the camera sees. The software sends commands to the motor to keep the target in the center of the frame.

  1. Go to the Servo tab.
  2. Set the neutral position of your motor.
  3. Adjust the speed sliders to control how fast the arm moves.
  4. Test the movement while the camera is active.

Technical tools sometimes face interruptions. Use this list to fix small errors.

  • Camera not appearing: Unplug the USB cable and plug it into a different port. Restart the software.
  • Servo not moving: Check the power source for the servo motor. Ensure the wires have a firm connection to the MaixCAM pin headers.
  • Slow performance: Close other applications on your computer. The system needs full access to your processor for image analysis.
  • Targets not registering: Ensure light in the room remains steady. Shadows often confuse the vision sensors.

💡 Best practices for success

The system works best in environments with controlled lighting. Avoid using the device in rooms with flickering lights or direct sunlight. Mount the camera on a flat, stable surface to prevent unwanted vibrations. Keep the lens clean to ensure the software detects edges of items clearly.

If the system misses a target, revisit the calibration section. Adjusting the detection box size often provides better results. Small changes in distance settings change how the software predicts the motion of the object. Take time to map your workspace for the best results.

This device involves physical movement. Keep your hands away from the servo arm during operation. Disconnect the power before you adjust the physical wiring or move the camera position.
