Seems like in a previous commit the check for the formatting of expanded sequences was wrong and errored on the correct input format, this negates that check and fixes the issue. Additionally, upon checking the current Bioconductor devel branch, there seems to be a mismatch in the verisoning and NEWS.md, this attempts to fix it.
