Academic BlockChain for Research & Development (ABC4RD) is being relaunched as an international research and education initiative for Bitcoin, AI, open compute, digital manufacturing, digital health, robotics, sensor networks, nanomaterials, and source-backed open infrastructure.

ABC4RD education hero

The project has a documented public origin: ABC4RD was covered by Bitcoin Magazine in February 2017 and the article was syndicated by Nasdaq. The relaunch builds on that historical education signal while focusing on current international work: AI education, Bitcoin education, open source, green compute, mining literacy, digital credentials, and community learning.

Languages

ABC4RD Academy uses English as the primary GitHub working language and is building public entry points in the six official United Nations languages:

Translation policy: docs/i18n/translation-policy.md.

Canonical entry point: Start Here.

What this repository is

This is the main public hub for ABC4RD Academy:

  • organization roadmap;
  • website and docs direction;
  • publishing and safety policy;
  • weekly operating loop and event activation pipeline;
  • GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket publishing coordination;
  • issue templates for public collaboration;
  • source-backed partner and ecosystem briefs;
  • coordination links to course, research, and community repositories.

Public positioning

ABC4RD should be described as:

An international blockchain and AI education initiative with a 2017 public media trail through Bitcoin Magazine and Nasdaq.

Use this carefully:

  • Say covered by Bitcoin Magazine and syndicated by Nasdaq in 2017 when citing the public articles.
  • Say aligned with and researching the BTC Inc / B.tc / Bitcoin Magazine / Bitcoin Conference ecosystem unless a public partnership agreement exists.
  • Treat Russia only as the historical 2017 university context.
  • Do not publish private emails, tokens, webhooks, internal CRM notes, private contracts, or access credentials.

GitHub collaboration

Use Issues for concrete work:

  • article proposal;
  • course module;
  • partner lead;
  • event activation;
  • source/evidence submission;
  • bug or task.

Use Discussions for broader conversation:

  • Announcements;
  • Research;
  • Course Development;
  • Events;
  • Partners;
  • Community Help.

Roadmap

See docs/github-roadmap.md.

For the external-facing roadmap, see docs/public-roadmap-v2.md.

For the current GitLab operating plan, see docs/group-roadmap.md.

Current first sprint: Launch Sprint 01: ABC4RD Academy Public Baseline.

Operating loop

Safety

ABC4RD uses a draft-first publishing model:

  • public posts require human approval;
  • credentials live only in GitHub Secrets or local .env files excluded from git;
  • passwords, tokens, and recovery codes are never shared through chat or public issues;
  • automation may generate drafts, but should not auto-publish externally without review;
  • source-backed claims are preferred over promotional language.

See docs/publishing-safety.md.
