The current card uses DOB for humans, but has an "Age" field for pets. Certainly this is approximate for many pets, since the exact date of birth is often unknown, but asking for a pet's age means that the card will become out of date in at most a year. Pet parents would be best off putting an approximate birth date, just month+year, or at worst only year of birth.
