Hi, I would like to request a feature that prevents Predbat from exporting energy that was previously charged from the grid.
My use case is:
I want to keep grid charging for self-consumption and battery preparation.
I still want to export genuine solar surplus when export prices are good.
But I do not want Predbat to charge the battery from the grid and then export that same energy later.
At the moment, in Control charge & discharge mode, Predbat can create plans with repeated charge/export cycles such as Chrg -> Exp -> Chrg -> Exp, especially overnight. This looks like energy arbitrage rather than self-consumption optimization, and it also increases battery wear.
In my country, a prosumer is not allowed to trade energy this way. Exporting energy previously imported from the grid and stored in a battery is not allowed for a normal prosumer setup, so this behavior is a legal/compliance problem, not just a preference.
A useful solution would be an option such as:
“Do not export grid-charged energy”
or “Allow export only from PV surplus / PV-charged battery energy”
or a mode where grid charging is allowed for self-consumption only, but not for arbitrage.
This would be very helpful for users in countries where battery arbitrage is restricted or not permitted.
