Hey there 👋

I'm Hugo, a Software Engineer at Vercel, where I work on Nuxt and its ecosystem. I spend my days building tools that make developers' lives easier, and my nights building the ones I wish existed.

What I'm building

At Vercel

I wear a lot of hats on the Nuxt team. Lately, much of my work is about making Nuxt and AI agents play well together, which is where things like Nuxi and the Nuxt MCP Toolkit come from. I also take care of Nuxt's branding, help out on Nuxt UI and nuxt.com, and jump in on Nitro when needed.

Beyond Nuxt, I'm involved across Vercel's open source work: the AI SDK, Chat SDK, eve and others, making sure they feel great with Nuxt and pitching in wherever I can. I also own GitHub Tools, a toolkit that lets AI agents work with GitHub, and I build a lot of templates, like the Personal Agent and Knowledge Agent ones. There's more coming.

On my own time

• evlog - Logging that tells you what happened instead of making you guess. One structured event per request with all the context attached, errors that explain themselves, and integrations for Nuxt, Next.js, Express, Fastify, NestJS and more. If you've ever grepped through thousands of log lines at 2am, this is for you.
• Shelve - A place to store and share environment variables and secrets with your team without pasting them in Slack. Comes with a CLI, GitHub sync and team roles, and you can self-host it.
• Templates - I love building starters that help people get going fast, from portfolio sites to full-stack apps. You'll find them on my GitHub.

Why sponsor?

I'm lucky enough to do open source for a living. But evlog, Shelve and everything else I build on the side happens on my own time and my own dime, and as these projects grow, so does what it takes to keep them healthy.

Here's what your sponsorship goes towards:

• Infrastructure. Domains, hosting and the services behind evlog.dev, Shelve and the other projects.
• People. Being able to pay contributors and maintainers to help with issues, reviews and releases, so the projects don't depend on my evenings alone.
• Design. Good branding, docs and websites take time and money. I care about how things look and feel, and I'd rather fund that properly than cut corners.
• Time. Every bit of support makes it easier to justify spending a weekend on the next release, better docs or that feature people keep asking for.
