GenomicRegion.cpp is pretty messy, with analogous functionality in different places using different code. For example approaches to parsing strings totally different between constructors that take a string compared with a character array. This is not good, as it will lead to potentially inconsistent behavior and bugs appearing that are not fixed in all appropriate places. We need to plan a re-writing of some of this.
