Proposal: URML (substrate-neutral robot intent) capability-manifest mapping for Seek Thermal Compact / CompactPRO USB thermal #37

Description

Hi @seekthermal team,

Proposing a URML v0.1 capability-manifest mapping for the Seek Compact / CompactPRO / MicroCore USB thermal imagers over seekcamera-python. URML (Apache-2.0) is a substrate-neutral spec for robot intent.

Acknowledging seekcamera-python is the single vendor repo and has been quiet for >14 months. Engaging anyway because Seek Thermal's compact USB form-factor is URML's portable / micro-class-robot complement to FLIR (RFC-0116) and Optris (RFC-0128) at the industrial end.

Shared thermal-array Spec-RFC gap.

This is proposal-only, part of URML's Move #10 outreach (perception-vendor wave, 29 engageable RFCs).

Full RFC: https://github.com/URML-MARS/URML/blob/main/docs/rfcs/0129-seek-thermal-outreach.md

Questions worth maintainer input on:

  1. Repository status. Active, dormant-but-supported, or fully retired?
  2. Thermal-array measurement_type shape (shared with RFC-0116 / RFC-0128).
  3. Compact / USB-class declaration. Should URML's manifest declare physical-connection class (USB / USB-C / Lightning) for portable form-factor cameras?
  4. Adapter home. URML repo, Seek-maintained, or both?
  5. Anything else.
