Styrbar - 4 Button - Dirigera

Hi, Have got the Styrbar connected to the Digigera, works in the Ikea App and can see the buttons being pressed.
But in the Home Assistant integration it only shows battery state not the 4 buttons.
Even in the event dev tools - doesn't show up any coms.

I've investigated this issue and found the root cause.

Why STYRBAR doesn't work

The STYRBAR (and similar remotes like RODRET) are deviceType: "lightController" devices, not shortcutController. They have:

  "canReceive": []
}

This means they control lights directly via Zigbee binding - button presses go straight to the paired lights without going through the hub for scene triggers.

However, the Dirigera hub does send remotePressEvent WebSocket messages when buttons are pressed:

The problem is that the integration was discarding these messages as "non state message" because it only handled sceneUpdated and deviceStateChanged events.

The Fix

I've created a PR that adds remotePressEvent support: #186

This enables STYRBAR, RODRET, and similar lightController remotes to fire dirigera_platform_event in Home Assistant, which you can use in automations.

Workaround (until PR is merged)

You can use my fork which includes this fix:

HACS Custom Repository: https://github.com/nrbrt/dirigera_platform

Add it via HACS → 3-dot menu → Custom repositories → paste the URL → select "Integration"

After installing, you'll get events like:

• button1_single_click
• button1_long_press
• button2_single_click
• etc.

These appear as dirigera_platform_event in Developer Tools → Events.

I just tested my Styrbar remote with the new version that include #186. I see the events for the 4 buttons, but the only one that works is the button1_single_click and the 4 buttons trig the same button1_single_click event.
