Description

Connect a custom domain to the CloudFront distribution using Route 53 and ACM.

Scope

• Choose custom domain
• Create or configure hosted zone
• Request ACM certificate
• Add domain to CloudFront
• Create Route 53 alias record

Out of Scope

• Full redesign
• Multi-domain strategy
• Email hosting

Acceptance Criteria

• Domain is configured
• Hosted zone exists or external DNS strategy is documented
• ACM certificate is issued
• CloudFront uses the custom domain
• Route 53 alias record points to CloudFront
• Site opens from custom domain over HTTPS

Technical Notes

• CloudFront certificates should be in us-east-1.
• Keep DNS records documented.
