Add "Big Rock" Indicator and Filter to Feature Tracking Dashboard
Problem
The Feature Tracking dashboard does not show which features are designated as "Big Rocks" (highest business priority items). While we can see component-level priorities, there's no visibility into which individual features are most important to the program or business when we remove component boundaries. This makes it difficult to prioritize documentation work when we're over-committed and need program-level direction.
Requested Enhancement
Add a "Big Rock" indicator (visual flag/badge on feature cards) and a corresponding filter to the Feature Tracking dashboard.
Use Case
- Who: Documentation team and all RHAI program members
- Why: Big Rocks represent the highest-priority features that require focused attention and quality investment across the entire program
- Benefit:
- Provides visibility and consensus on what is most important at the program/business level (not just component-level)
- Helps all teams prioritize when over-committed by identifying which individual features matter most across component boundaries
- Enables docs team to align resource allocation with business priorities
- Supports the Big Rocks documentation strategy (concentrate human expertise on high-value features)
Proposed Implementation
Visual Indicator
- Add a distinctive badge/icon on feature cards that are flagged as Big Rocks
- Consider using a visual element similar to the "BLOCKED" or "DROPPED" indicators already in the dashboard
Filter
Add a dropdown filter (similar to existing "All Products", "All Statuses", "All Components" filters) with options:
- All (default)
- Big Rocks Only
- Non-Big Rocks
Priority
High - Critical for aligning team work with program-level business priorities and supporting strategic resource allocation when teams are over-committed.
Additional Context
Big Rocks are features that have demonstrated customer interest and where RHAI leadership has decided to focus on quality. This indicator would help all teams (not just docs) understand where to concentrate effort when competing priorities exist across components.
