Not able to connect to Pi on linux

On Windows this works brilliantly, but for the life of me I cannot get a connection working on Ubuntu with my RPi. Is there anything specific I need to be doing? Am I missing something? Should be as simple as with Windows, connect USB cable and ssh in using ssh pi@<hostname>.local because that's somehow not working.

facing the same issue. No problem on macos, Ubuntu 24.04 doesn't connect, even after setting the usb ethernet interface to "shared to other computers".

With sharing to other computers enabled it does however get an IP assigned, but connection is not possible to be made.

This worked for me running Ubuntu.
Plug pwnagotchi into laptop/computer.
Settings > network > IPV4 settings

Method: Manual

Address: 10.12.194.2

Netmask: 255.255.255.240

Gateway: 10.12.194.2

ssh: pi@10.12.194.1

​for internet through the usb you will need the internet share for Linux script in the script folder of the repo.
Modify that script from 10.0 to the above config and

This isn't the pwnagotchi repo. Thank you for responding on this issue, but this isn't the solution for the problem itself.

Having the same issue. Interestingly, it seems that having a camera plugged into the pi (Pi02W in this case) makes it not be able to connect. Fresh image allows for connection without camera but once i unplug the pi, connect the FPC cable, and plug it back in, i just keep getting "Failed to activate network connection." Wondering if this is a power issue but after it fails the first time it isn't able to connect again, even without the camera connected. Running Trixie lite 64b connected to desktop running ubuntu 22.04.

Hi,

I'm facing the same issue as well in Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS.

Raspberry Pi running latest Raspbian OS 64-Lite (trixie).

Adapter shows but it fails to get an IP by DHCP from shared connection.

I got it working. sudo apt-get install avahi-discover avahi-daemon install these 2 packages if you haven't already and it should get an IP assigned.
