Duplicated foldername doc and docs

**Describe the bug**
The folder structure contains a `doc` and `docs` folder. This might lead to confusion.

**To Reproduce**
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
1. Observe the project structure in github 
2. Find the two folders `doc` and `docs`
3. ...

**Expected behavior**
A clear folder structure that indicates where to find which information.
