What kind of issue is this?
What is the problem?
A discussion on the Discord led to me realizing that there are quite a few technologies that are locked behind the Arqad tech, despite not using anything related to Arqad.
The technologies in question are :
- Advanced Mining Facilities
- Molybdenum Processing
- Aluminum Processing Stage 2
- Chromium Processing Stage 2
- Seaweed Stage 2
- Seaweed Upgrade
All those technologies are locked behind Vanadium Processing, which is locked behind Arqads.
The only reason they require Vanadium Processing is because it unlocks the Agitator & Thickener, both of which do not use any Arqad product. None of the listed technologies unlock anything that uses either Arqad products or Vanadium.
IMO it would make more sense for those two buildings to be unlocked in the Advanced Mining Facilities tech, and have that be a requirement for Vanadium Processing and the rest of the named technologies, instead of the other way around. In addition it make more sense for the Advanced Mining Facilities tech to be the one unlocking the facilities to process more minerals.
Steps to reproduce
- Start a game of Full Py on Factorio 2.0.77
- Check the tech tree.
