Goal
Factorio 2.1 adds the ability for labs to connect to wires, both to read info about the current research, and to change it.
Py's labs cannot connect to wires. If this omission is not intentional (or a giant headache), then ideally the capability should be added.
Why?
Reading and changing research are useful new capabilities from 2.1. Also the Utility Combinators mod has dropped the Research Combinator in 2.1, so the previous way to get info about the current research is gone.
