There is support for launching daemon payloads this way: see https://github.com/ps5-payload-dev/websrv/blob/master/host_tools/ps5-elfldr

For bigapp homebrew there is no such capability atm since they often rely on files that needs to be copied to the local file system. I have been thinking of ways to bundle bigapps as isos or udf images that are mounted and signed elfs launched in a FreeBSD jail just like pkg bigapps.

Yes I was thinking of bigapp. Been working on an app and thought it would be nice for it to automatically start after make upload.

If you wanna automate it, you can transfer files via ftp and launch it with shsrv using the command hbldr (which implements the same approach as websrv to launch bigapps). Just use netcat to send this script to port 2323:

hbldr ELF_PATH ARGS
exit
