Is this server managed by the bitchat team? If not, I won't be joining. I believe https://matrix.org/ is more appropriate than discord for this project (and for anything in general tbh).

I vote for "Gitter style" chat (on Matrix) instead. much simpler.

I think IRC itself is the closest thing to the "irc vibes" of bitchat. If someone picked a main stream irc network and created a channel that stayed alive that would be so awesome. Other than that discord is huge among nerds that game. It isn't very chatty yet with the early state of the ios/android apps but people are there for when it gets more buzz.
