QUESTION: Automatic extrinsic camera calibration using keypoints

Hi Pose2Sim team,

I am wondering if you have an ETA for implementing the automatic camera calibration using keypoints? I have a multi-cam setup in a large space (8-camera synchronized) and have been unable to get a proper extrinsic calibration using the checkerboard because it must be seen by all cameras and the error values are too large.

Unfortunately, I don't have any timeline, I've been struggling to find time... Here is what I suggest:

• Calibrate on elements of the scene instead of on a checkerboard: that's what I usually do, it works well: see here https://perfanalytics.github.io/pose2sim/#2calculate-extrinsic-parameters
• Try Caliscope: the output is a .toml calibration file that you can just copy-paste in your calibration directory
• Try this, which calibrates on keypoints. Note that you'll have to calibrate intrinsic parameters separately
