Version 2.41

Version 2.4

  1. FIXED: With commercial processing, if commercials are not found, that generates a warning that shows in the web manager. However, the warning file was not being displayed by the log display function.
  2. UPDATED: Commercial processing. Since Plex now has the ability to run comskip itself, the meanings of the COMCUT environment variable have been changed as follows:
    • COMCUT=-1 <-- Commercial processing will be completely disabled
    • COMCUT=0 <-- Commercials will be detected and marked but not deleted
    • COMCUT=1 <-- Commercials will be detected and deleted

Version 2.35

  2. Configured TZ variable to be inherited by the manager process so the web reports show the correct time.

  1. Implemented error handling to detect and cleanly abort if the transcoder does not produce an output file.

Version 2.31

Reworked the processing code with the following changes:

  1. Rather than relying on comchap/comscut to successfully run the comskip proces, we now run that separately.
  2. If commercials are not found, we skip comchap/comcut altogether and set a flag to highlight the job with a warning in the manager
  3. If commercials are found, we only run comchap/comcut based on the setting of the COMCUT environment variable.
  4. Added a retry-job feature to the manager for saved (successful/warning) jobs.

Version 2.30

  1. Implemented a directory to hold comskip.ini variants and a mechanism to have plexprocess switch comskip.ini files based on showname matching filters. See readme for details.

Version 2.21

  1. simplified the makefile a bit.
  2. Moved the buildenv Dockerfile out and published that container separately on Dockerhub (see mjbrowns/buildenv)

Version 2.20

  1. Fixed several bugs, including the makefile bug that didn't include comskip in the docker image.
  2. A complete rewrite of the plexprocess code, streamlining operations and making it much more readable, and vastly improved error handling and restart management.
  3. Added the TRANSCODER environment variable. This can be used to pass a path to your own custom script to handle transcoding.
  4. The default transcoder is now in a separate script from the main plexproces script for easier customization.
  5. Tweaked the manager gui with better log handling and an auto-refresh embedded in the log viewer and main status page.

Version 1.17

I have no idea why, but after the latest docker CE update, the ADD function didn't seem to work correctly.
I had used the add statement to pull the S6 archive into the image and then unpack it; it seemed to do the download but then when it got to the next line in the dockerfile to unpack it the file wasn't there. I dug around quite a bit and it wasn't anywhere. So I have no idea why, but I had to update my build process to handle this separately. Ironically its probably a better design this way :-)

Also: Removed the date printing from the queueman and plexprocess scripts - since docker's output manager is timestamped this is redundant.

...and figured out that i needed to include the tzdata package so that the container would sync time with timzeone support.

Version 1.15

In the 1.12 update I trimmed down the plexpost image but in the process introduced an error - I did not have the ca-certificates installed so the slack posting process failed. This update adds ca-certificates to the images so slack alerting now works again.

Version 1.14

  • Plex made a permanent change to their DVR process; rather than outputting native streams (usually TS files) they are remuxing all DVR streams to mkv. This version changes the flow of post processing to handle both TS input files and mkv automatically.
  • Corrected error handling to properly call back to the alerting functions in more scenarios
  • Updates comskip, s6, etc.
