Current Behavior

Unifi Network Application will not start.

Here is the compose file I am trying to use:

I noticed if I remove the MEM_LIMIT and MEM_STARTUP environmental variables, there are no errors and the Unifi gets stuck here:

I also found this error in my mongo logs:

Expected Behavior

I am trying to use the official documentation and am just expecting the controller to start with the current compose file.

Steps To Reproduce

To reproduce the error, I simply use the compose file that was shared above and start the stack.

Environment

- OS:Linux Mint 
- How docker service was installed: Using Portainer

CPU architecture

x86-64

I use the GUI in Portainer, not a command.

You have two separate issues, the first is that as per the readme the memory limits haven't supported a unit specifier since before this iteration of the image existed (it was changed on the old unifi-controller image).

Your second issue tells you what the problem is in the error message. Your mongo database is set to version 7.0 feature compatibility and you're trying to use a version 6.0 mongo image with it.

Thanks for the reply, I figured I was doing something wrong. How can I specify a version 6.0 database? I thought because my image was mongo:6.0, so would the database.

You'd need to refer to the mongo documentation linked in your error message. The only way I'm aware of to set the compatibility level is when the database is created, in which case it will march the server version, or by manual query when you're performing an upgrade of the database image version.

I fixed the environment variables by not adding the M at the end. I recreated my database and now Unifi is stuck again at "no custom files found" and Mongo is giving me this:

Is this an existing or fresh install? If fresh, did you happen to use chatgpt to create the compose for you?

I used the official documentation and yes it's a fresh install

If that's the case then, I assume it being a fresh install. You don't look to have done any of the application setup with the databases etc here: https://github.com/linuxserver/docker-unifi-network-application#application-setup

also, do you really need to set static ip's for your containers?
