Feedback and further suggestions

While I didn't have time to play with it yet, I followed the last wave of pull requests closely. This looks like awesome stuff, you are basically building the library for an acoustic test engineer I've dreamed for for quite some time now and the teaching style of the documentation is very appealing as well as the focus on and the conformance with the standards.

Would you be open to suggestions/contributions for additional standards to be included or is the scope more or less fixed? I checked the contribution guidelines but couldn't find something related to what's within the scope of phonometry and what might be out of scope.

Hi @roteiro, thank you, this really made my day. The goal is exactly that dual thing: a standardized, well-tested library on one side, and a didactic one on the other, something you can use as a reference or a guide for your own experiments and calculations. There's still more information and documentation I want to add on top of what's there.

To your question: the scope is not fixed, quite the opposite. Suggestions are very welcome. The rough rule is: if it's a published, standardized (or well-established, citable) acoustic method, it's probably in scope: measurement, building & environmental, room, psychoacoustics, electroacoustics, structural vibration, underwater, aircraft/rotorcraft, and the metrology in between. Each addition is implemented clean-room from the standard's text and validated against an independent oracle (a worked example, a reference dataset, or an analytic limit).

You don't need to write any code or bring a full dataset. The minimum is the reference (standard number/edition, or paper/book); beyond that, any detail that would help the implementation, a worked example or reference values especially, since that verification anchor is usually the hard part. A simple proposal is enough for me to look into it and see whether I can implement it reliably. Feel free to drop suggestions right here in this issue, or open as many separate issues as you like, either works. (I haven't enabled Discussions yet, to keep everything in one place for now, but I'll probably turn them on later.)

And if you ever get to play with it, the latest release (3.1.0) is on PyPI (pip install phonometry) and already covers a good part of the above. No pressure, but I'd be glad to hear how it feels in real work. Thanks again!
