Question about molex and tweeter holes

I am very interested in your iPod Hi-Fi Tweeters project and I’d love to realize this upgrade as well. I wanted to ask you a couple of things:

1. Should the holes for the tweeters on the lower panel be drilled all the way through the support, or only to a certain depth depending on the tweeter you are using?

2. Which Molex connectors did you use (2-pin vertical or horizontal)? If possible, could you share some photos of the connectors inside the Hi-Fi and how you wired everything?

1. My notes in the readme say "Mill to a depth of 11mm" so I trust past-Jake to know. My recollection is that there are some structural features on the back of the baffle that you don't need to cut all the way through. Just need to make room for the tweeters.

2. I'll post a copy of my original DIgikey Order from 2021. I don't think I used all of these parts, but the connectors and pins I used are there. Wiring wise, I'm pretty sure I just plugged the crossovers into where the L&R midrange speakers would connect and then the speaker into the inductor side of the crossover, the tweeter to the capacitor side.

I think I have different tweeters and crossovers in my unit right now. I've wanted to go back to the ones in this original design, but I haven't had the ambition to take it all apart. If I get that ambition, I'm happy to take some photos... but I think you just smoosh it where it fits. I did wrap it with some padding to prevent it from accidentally vibrating against something and making unwanted noise.

Also, I tried to do a 5v conversion on the dock connector and completely destroyed my dock connector on this unit. If you attempt this, and find yourself with a spare dock module, I'd be interested in at least going back to a working, 12v only dock port :). I've never seen anyone sell this component when parting it out on eBay, and they all seem to be overpriced when someone does sell parts, for example the speakers.

OK turns out I double ordered the socket pins on that order, and I placed a second order a few days later for the corresponding pins. You also need to M1841CT-ND 0430310001 CONN PIN 20-24AWG CRIMP TIN.
