DOIs in Bibliography

While preparing a paper for 2026 I noticed that we ignore DOIs in our citation style.
I was wondering whether we should include them?

Pro:

• Easier linking from the PDF to the cited paper
• Indexing could be better (assuming search engines are using DOIs)

Cons:

• Bibliography gets longer

I'd say it wouldn't hurt, the pros outweigh the cons, and authors could still choose whether to include dois in their BibTeX files. Note that some citation sources include complete "https://doi.org/..." URLs in the doi field, though, so probably it'd need a package that is smart enough to convert everything doi-like into a short "doi:..." link.
