Will not read with DM32UV Baofeng Cable, but works with Prolific Cable on EndeavourOS

The Baofeng Cable that ships with the DM32UV (as of ~2025) which identifies as Bus 001 Device 004: ID 1a86:7523 QinHeng Electronics CH340 serial converter does not work with QDMR. Switching to a Prolific chipped cable (eg. Bus 001 Device 005: ID 067b:2303 Prolific Technology, Inc. PL2303 Serial Port / Mobile Phone Data Cable) works.

OS: EndeavourOS Titan Linux 6.19.11
Hardware: AMD Ryzen and Macbook Pro 2012 (both have same issue)

Funny, mine works totally fine with a cable identifying as 1a86:7523 QinHeng Electronics CH340 serial converter. The CH340 is just a cheap USB-serial chip that should work with Linux/MacOS.

Is the port detected? Is this a communication issue? What are the error messages? If you start qdmr from the commandline with the --loglevel=debug option, you get some more information about the device detection.

I think it's a wierdness of EOS. Even between my macbook and desktop, the Prolific chip isn't entirely reliable (on the desktop it has issues, but intermittently). I posted it here instead of reporting it as a bug because I thought that might be the case. If someone else ever has a similar issue, they might try just changing cables.
