Some buttons are invisible

Some buttons (eg. User settings) have no background and box shadow. This results in a white button label on a white background - invisible buttons.
However, they show on hover.

Any fix in the works? I'm getting white/invisible text on eOS. I'm also getting a pink border around some combo boxes.

I don't think I can actually fix it, I tried many things and the Gnome guys weren't all that helpful either. I think it's a GTK 3 limitation that would require me to change the design of the buttons, which I don't really want to do.
The buttons and combo boxes are made so they have a blue/purple border when focused (see pic), but if it's actually pink, it might be because AFAIK eOS uses GTK 3.4 and this theme is made for 3.8. I haven't experienced that myself. Mind giving me some more details if that's the case?
