refstorage repository not supported?

I am attempting to open a repository that uses the refstorage backend, and am getting this error: "unsupported extension name extensions.refstorage", which prevents the repo from being opened.

I'm using version 1.4.3 (1052) on Mac OS 26.5.2 (25F84), on a MacBook Air M2.
