Currently, the upper and lower thresholds for calculating height using a percentile subtraction method are chosen either arbitrarily or searched for a combination that best matches "ground truth." It might facilitate more accurate height measurement to be able to visualize the distribution of point height values (maybe with color represented in the histogram somehow) so that a user could choose cutoffs appropriate for capturing the average of plant vs soil points.
Solution - something like visualize.dsm that plots a histogram with percentiles plotted so users can see where they fall in the distribution.
