Excel to Tree

An Excel template to generate large mindmaps from tree-like data tables (e.g. org charts).

Great for anyone working with large sets of hierarchical data.


📥 How to install

  1. Download this file
  2. Open the file and accept any warnings to enable the macros in the spreadsheet

📝 Usage

  1. Paste your plain data into the first tab
  2. Validate the data with the second tab
  3. Generate the hierarchy using the last tab
  4. Paste the data into a mindmapping tool, such as XMind or FreeMind

⚠️ Limitations and Known Bugs

  • May seem unresponsive when applied to large sets of data (e.g. 1000+ rows)
  • Has been built and tested on Windows 10 only
