For the negative log likelihood,
the term
fn.'/C*fn pops an exception:

Matrix dimensions must agree.
"
in Matlab R2016b.

fn is a scalar here.

Could that be a potential bug?

OK it seems like my input of fN was arbitrary, hence the dimensions did not agree.
That won`t be an issue if all functions are correctly involked.
