We've been trying to migrate an existing app from the Checkout API to the Cart API but we're just unable to do so. Both replacing the Apple Pay checkout and applying a free payment method does not work because we are missing some undocumented access scopes. I've followed the steps outlined in #1242 and filled the Google Form titled "Request to build accelerated checkouts with the Storefront API" but never heard back from anyone.
As the Checkout API is set to sunset very soon, we are starting to fear that we are going to run out of time to properly test and deploy the update to all of our users and get sufficient update propagation before the API requests to the Checkout API starts failing in production. Mobile is just different than the web for updates, it takes more time to rollout to everyone.
This issue seems to have been raised by others in the past (see #1255) without any reply in the last 6 months. The least Shopify can do when introducing a breaking change and planning to completely remove an API is making the upgrade possible and support the developers relying on it. Please address this situation quickly to avoid any impact on the end users.
