Summary
After the ARI + ExternalMedia rebuild, the bridge is working end-to-end and both call directions are functional. There is still an intermittent audio defect on the Discord -> phone path.
Reported behavior
- Every few minutes, audio on the Discord -> phone side becomes very robotic for roughly 15 seconds.
- The issue then clears on its own.
- The bridge otherwise remains connected and usable.
Current status
- Do not block the rebuild rollout on this.
- Track separately for follow-up investigation.
Likely areas to inspect later
- RTP pacing / jitter handling on outbound media to Asterisk
- Discord receive buffering and decode timing
- Packet loss concealment behavior during bursts of activity
- Whether multiple active Discord speakers make the symptom worse
