Boxflat unable to connect steadily to devices

Current Behavior:

I have the Moza sequential shifter, handbrake, CRP2 pedals, and RS rim plugged into an R12 v2 base. jstest is able to show me all the axes and buttons and they all appear to work. If I run boxflat, it finds all the devices but keeps disconnecting from them, apparently randomly, every few seconds, such that I don't have enough time to configure anything. dmesg does not report disconnections at the USB level. If I connect just one device directly other than the wheelbase, I am able to configure the device. Pit House is able to configure my setup with everything connected.

Expected Behavior:

All devices should appear and not get disconnected every few seconds.

Steps To Reproduce:

1. Open Boxflat
2. Wait a few seconds for devices to be recognized
3. Wait another few seconds for the devices to randomly get disconnected

I read through the code and created a ~/.config/boxflat/settings.yaml file that set the rules-version to 2 and this seems to have fixed the problem.

I spoke too soon. It started doing the disconnect thing again, and I can't explain why it was working so well for a time.

I've tried changing the timeout to get_value and get_value_no_clear from 0.05 to 1.00 and it seems I have better luck getting it to stay connected. It's not rock-solid though, so maybe there's something going on in my computer that slows the communication down. Any suggestions on things I can try to troubleshoot?

Hmm, are you by chance using anything else that might want to connecto to your moza devices? Like monocoque?

Hitting a similar issue here, different hardware combo so might help narrow it down.
Setup: MOZA R5 wheelbase (V1) + CRP2 pedals, no shifter or handbrake attached. Fedora 44, kernel 7.1.3, Boxflat v1.36.1 installed via Flathub.
When I launch Boxflat from a terminal it prints "base" connected and the Home panel briefly shows the wheelbase/pedals sections active, but within a second or two everything locks (Center button greyed out, steering position stuck at 0, pedal sliders unresponsive). No USB disconnect/reconnect shows up in dmesg during this, and lsof doesn't show anything else holding /dev/ttyACM0.
Things I ruled out before finding this issue:

udev rule is correctly applied (0666 perms confirmed on /dev/ttyACM0)
ModemManager isn't touching the device (checked journalctl, also tried the ID_MM_DEVICE_IGNORE udev flag, no change)
brltty is disabled
hid_universal_pidff is loaded (kernel is well past the 6.12.24/6.13.12/6.14.3 backport versions)
Flatpak has devices=all permission already

Same as the original report, Pit House on Windows configures this wheelbase/pedal combo without any issue, so it's not a hardware or firmware problem on the device side.
Happy to grab logs or test anything if it helps track this down.
