Monitor RAM usage?

Is it possible to monitor RAM usage and automatically adjust disk frame on the fly, i.e. with regards to workers used? I sometimes have the issue that I run out of RAM if I use too many workers.

I thought a bit about this. Might be difficult for disk.frame to tackle except by intro-ing some controls to the use e.g. load only half of each chunk each time.

If {future} introduces such a feature and can auto-tune it might work. Otherwise might be tough for disk.frame to achieve
