Problem
Perhaps it's already in your roadmap... an import/export design tokens as JSON files?
Preface: I know this is complicated by the Core Framework integration and however you have that coded.
And I do think the way you're handling it in Instatic is very simple/elegant for most people.
To be truly open-source and signing onto other evolving standards, would be great if the design tokens system became fully featured and followed the w3C design token standards so people can import/export all their tokens across platforms, to other projects (via conversion to css with a tool like https://styledictionary.com/) etc
Penpot is handling it this way at w3c standard and it also has the added benefit of being even easier for AI to work with.

These guys helped them align with the w3c standards: https://tokens.studio/
PS: Your new site looks great!
