Bug description

On a clean CachyOS install, WiFi works normally at first. After a few days of uptime, the WiFi card disappears from the system entirely, it is no longer detected at all. It is absent from lspci, ip link shows no wl* interface, and it is gone from NetworkManager / the KDE Plasma applet. rfkill list shows only Bluetooth. Bluetooth continues to work normally throughout which is strange to me because they are both on the same PCIE card.

Switching to the linux-cachyos-lts kernel does not bring the card back it remains undetected under LTS as well but going on a live usb with cachyos on it makes the networks show up again.

I seriously don't know what triggers this. It has happened to me twice on two seperate installations on the same PC. I wish I could be more helpful with the steps to reproduce.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Live the unfortunate reality of owning a MediaTek WiFi Card.
  2. Randomly lose WiFi one day?

Expected behavior

  1. WiFi networks show up and work as expected.

Actual behavior

  1. Only wired networks and bluetooth work.

Logs / stack traces

Additional system information

I have updated my motherboard's BIOS to the latest version. My Motherboard is the MSI B850I EDGE TI WIFI
