Hi there! For extracting vocals from movies and series, you are hitting the classic issue where sound effects (SFX) bleed into the vocal stem.If you have access to it, it is definitely possible to handle this much better using iZotope RX 12 by using the 'Scene Rebalance' feature. This specific tool uses a dedicated neural network designed exactly for film and TV, which intelligently separates the audio into three distinct stems: Dialogue, Music, and Effects. It is a game-changer for avoiding SFX in your vocals. If you want to stick strictly to UVR, try combining your current workflow with a Roformer model (like BS-Roformer or Kim Vocal V2) using a high overlap setting. They are generally much better at distinguishing speech from background noises compared to Demucs or standard MDX-Net. |

I've been using LyRuno and it's worked great for me. It can separate dialogue, music, and SFX, even when dialogue overlaps with singing. The free version is honestly all I need. |

Hi UVR community,
I love UVR and I've been using it for vocals separation on movies and series for educational purposes on dubbing movies here in Spain. While using UVR with vocals/instrumental separation has yielded pretty good results, it is not perfect and some sound effects get also extracted into the vocals stem. I'm currently using the following models:
I've also searched this forum a bit and haven't found much more.
Is there a combination of models/stem pair that would allow me to have more control or better results for vocals in movies/series?
