We have proton runtime in our steam stuff, but as far as a default layer at the baseimage status we will not be doing this.

Managing a wine prefix is not a one size fits all thing, I under stand the intention of "let me run exes and install windows apps" but it is more nuanced then that. Also just in general we have no downstream windows app containers.
