Bug description
When switched to Cinnamon Wayland all I get are black screens. I then installed KDM PLASMA and switched from the Linux Mint display manager to the KDM display manger. Except for the horrible login screen, Wayland works just fine on Linux Mint. As a result it is your display manager at fault, not Wayland in general.
Steps to reproduce
Install Linux Mint below is my system spec printout:
Operating System: Linux Mint 22.3
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.12
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.115.0
Qt Version: 5.15.13
Kernel Version: 6.17.0-23-generic (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11
Processors: 32 × AMD Ryzen 9 7940HX with Radeon Graphics
Memory: 29,1 GiB of RAM

In the login screen choose Cinnamon Wayland
Session will initialize but all monitors show a black screen just like they did before.

Well obviously KDM works just fine with their display manager, I expect Cinnamon to work equally well on Wayland. Perhaps you should look at SDDM and find out where you are screwing up in your "light" implementation.
